چکیده

The sensitivity of human and murine cate that human and murine hemopoietic hemopoietic precursor cells to 1 ,3 bis cells may differ in their intrinsic sensitivity (2 chloroethyl)-1-nitrosourea (BCNU), nitodrugs. The hematologic toxicity of some trogen mustard, 5-fluorouracil, and melchemotherapeutic agents cannot be cxphalan was assessed in culture using trapolated directly from mouse to man. colony assay techniques. The results mdiM OUSE MODEL SYSTEMS are frequently used to assess the effects ofchemotherapeutic agents prior to clinical trial. This usage is based on the assumption that findings in the mouse are applicable to man. This ssumption can be tested since very similar assay procedures are available for human and murine granulopoietic progenitors in culture (CFU-C). Accordingly, we used the cell culture method to assess the sensitivity of human and murineCFU-C to melphalan, nitrogen mustard, 5-fluorouracil (5 FU), and 1,3 bis (2 chloroethyl)l-nitrosourea (BCN U). Significant species differences were encountered.

Synergistic effect of \'Y-interferon and chemotherapeutic drugs on KE-37

Therapeutic use of biological response modulators in combination with chemotherapeutic drugs may propose a more efficient way for cancer therapy with fewer side effects. However, the related mechanism has not been well understood. Γ-interferon is a modulator of biological responses that inhibits the growth of malignant cells and mediates their differentiation. In this investigation, T cell lymp...

TRANSFORMING GROWTH FACTOR β2 UP-REGULATES GM-CSF GENE IN HUMAN BLADDER CARCINOMA CELL LINE HTB 5637

Transforming growth factor betas are multifunctional polypeptides in the cytokine superfamily. They have a growth inhibitory role on hemopoietic progenitor cells in semisolid colony assay as well as in long-term bone-marrow culture. TGF - β2 represses stromal cells, stem cell factor gene transcription, and decreases the stability of c-kit transcripts in hemopoietic cells. TGF-β also modulat...

Synergistic Anti-Cancer Effects of Second-Generation Proteasome Inhibitor Carfilzomib with Doxorubicin and Dexamethasone Via p53-Mediated Apoptosis in Pre-B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Cells

Background: The ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) plays a crucial role in regulating the levels and functions of a large number of proteins in the cell, which are important for cancer cell growth and survival. The proteasome is highly activated in B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (BCP-ALL), which is the most common malignancy in children. The attempt to inhibit proteasome as a ther...
